The whole idea for Summer Place is about creating a bold, contemporary and vibrant garden to suit the needs of a high density, vertical living community. Besides the simplicity in the appearance of the landscape, the innovative design offsets the image of this formerly, reclaimed land. The geographically sea fronting advantage was taken into consideration when designing and transforming the landscape features. One of the crucial elements that was also weaved into this concept is functionality. The amenities featured in the landscape design are carefully planned so that it would serve a beneficial purpose to the community, allowing them to interact within the underlying concept of inclusion and unity in sustaining the waterfront community.
This contemporary, tropical garden lies within a shrouded sanctuary. As this project aims to resemble a holiday seaside retreat with summer activities, water elements were adopted as the main theme to complement the sea view. The centralized contemporary garden forms a gigantic circle on the plan view to break the rigidity of the designated landscape area. This circular shape tangibly portrays a sense of inclusion, unity and togetherness in the overall design.
