A Biophilic Oasis: Rosewoodz Brings Nature Back to the Urban Landscape
At the heart of vibrant cities, a new wave of design innovation is underway that aims to reconnect city dwellers with the natural world. Rosewoodz, a project that epitomises this vision by integrating biophilic design principles into its core, transforming urban spaces into vibrant, nature-inspired oases while addressing the pressing challenges of relentless urbanisation, including increasing heat and declining green spaces.
BBQ TAVERN: UNIVERSAL DESIGN X BIOPHILIC ELEMENTS
Designed for wheelchair users, the ramp offers a unique biophilic experience and moves away from the conventional solid walls typically found on ramps. Instead of barriers, there is vertical greenery that not only enhances the visual appeal but also promotes natural air circulation and cross ventilation.
The greening of the 4,255m² site is well thought out and includes 835m² (+/- 19.62 %) across the sub-basement, ground floor, Level 8 and vertical greenery, along with an additional 549m² dedicated to external upgrades. Our landscape strategy combines practical statistics with a strong commitment to combating urban sprawl through innovative landscape solutions.
The arched water fountain provides a fun water feature for children and also helps to muffle noise from the nearby LRT tracks. It also serves as a divider between the children’s pool and the Passion Pool for adults.
PASSION POOL, REDWOOD CABANA, SUNBATH LOUNGE
The red-hued Passion Pool adds a lively touch to the facility deck. Beauty truly lies in the eye of the beholder, and here, passion infuses our spirit. The pool’s flowing patterns mimic the delicate curves of rose petals, softening the striking architectural lines while creating a harmonious balance between the two.
ROSEBAY GARDEN
Focuses on creating a cosy meeting place in a linear garden, highlighted by the fragrant Rosebay trees and the inviting warmth of the natural timber log seating. It is an ideal place for residents to enjoy the morning sun or take in the stunning colours of the sunset.
